Overview

Also known as "failed back syndrome," Post-Laminectomy Syndrome refers to the chronic pain that may occur in some patients following a spinal surgery. This may be caused by the formation of scar tissue or irritation and inflamation.

Treatment will depend on the severity of your pain. If you think you may be suffering from Post-Laminectomy Syndrome, schedule an appointment with your physician to discuss treatment options including medications, injections, physical therapy, or surgery.

"I had so much back and leg pain that I was unable to go to work. After seeing a physician in the Alexandria Neurosurgical Clinic I made the decision to undergo surgery and have made a full recovery. The pain and numbness is gone and I have returned to work without any restrictions. Thank you for giving me back control of my life."
