This surgery is preformed to treat peroneal neuropathy by reducing pressure on the peroneal nerve. A small incision is made below the knee which allows the surgeon to release any spots where the nerve is entrapped or compressed in the leg. Afterwards the nerve is allowed to heal and healthy function of the foot increased or restored.
