Overview

This condition occurs when the peroneal nerve in the leg is injured or damaged due to trauma, or prolonged immobility. Symptoms can include numbness in the foot or outer part of the legs, weakness of the ankles or feet, or foot drop, which is the inability to lift the ankle or turn the foot. Treatment of this condition may include steriod injections or Peroneal Nerve Decompression if surgery is required.
