Overview

This condition, also known as Sciatica, is an irritation or compression of nerve roots in the lumbar spine. Symptoms usually occur in the hips, buttocks, legs and feet because these nerves travel down from the back to those areas. Sciatica can be caused by a variety of issues with the bones and tissues of the lumbar spinal column including Herniated Discs, Degenerative Disc Disease, and Spinal Stenosis.

Symptoms frequently include pain, weakness, numbness and tingling in the hip, thighs, knees or feet, and may vary depending on the level of the injury.
